Football season has arrived. For the Tennessee Titans, players and coaches are well-aware that jobs are on the line. At age 90, owner Bud Adams is desperate to witness his team end a playoff drought that includes no postseason victories since January 2004. Their last postseason appearance came in 2009.

Throughout the entire regular season, Titan Sized will conduct weekly fan approval rating polls for head coach Mike Munchak, offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains, defensive coordinator Jerry Gray and quarterback Jake Locker. Munchak and Gray have been responsible for two playoff-less seasons. Locker played most of last season with a bum shoulder. Late last season, Loggains took over for Chris Palmer.

Are Tennessee Titans enthusiasts satisfied with the brain trust of the franchise? Do you approve of what these figures have done for the franchise over the last two seasons? Are you confident that these coaches and players can help lead this team to greater heights that were enjoyed during the late 20th and early 21st centuries?

When regular-season games begin, all readers are encouraged to check back and give their weekly rankings. Those totals will get tallied up and final results will get posted toward the end of each week.

Let’s start with Coach Munchak.

Entering his third season as head coach, Munchak has a 15-17 coaching record. After just missing the playoffs with a 9-7 record in 2011-12, the Titans dropped back to 6-10 in 2012-13. This included seven double-digit losses, two of which featured the defense surrendered 50-plus points.

Is this the year when Munchak puts it all together? His job may depend on it. Munchak and management made a plethora of changes on the coaching staff and with player personnel. There’s no doubt that this team has the talent of an above-.500 football team. The question: Are Jake Locker, Munchak and his coaches the group to lead them back to the postseason?

Where do Titan Sized readers stand on Munchak? Do you completely approve (100%) or disapprove (0%) of his first two seasons? Is it somewhere in-between? Give your answer in the poll below. All totals will get tallied.

Next up: defensive coordinator Jerry Gray.

I went with 85%. I like Munchak, and respect that he was willing to make drastic changes after last year. Going 9-7 that first year covered up some warts I think that came to light, and now they have been aggressively correcting it. I still don’t think that we are a playoff team yet, but really hope we take some strides this season and Munchak and co will have us very competitive after another good draft and free agency. The chance that we still suck I suppose is real and that’s why I went with 85%, but for sanity’s sake I really don’t want us starting completely over with QB and HC next year so am pulling for our guys now.
