It has been four years since the Tennessee Titans used their first-round pick on former Rutgers wide receiver Kenny Britt. Coming in as a rookie, Britt had a lot of potential and was heading to a team in desperate need of a standout receiver. The hopes for Britt’s future ran high after a strong rookie campaign and the future looked bright in Tennessee for Britt.

Long gone are the days of hoping Britt would be a top-tier NFL receiver and that brings us to where we are now, Britt looking to make a strong return this year for the Titans. While some may think his days as a Titan are limited, I think Britt still has enough fight and talent in him to make a return to his former self this season. I see this as a possibility for two reasons:

Talent and determination.

It is undeniable that Britt has the talent to be a top-tier NFL wide receiver and we have seen flashes of that in his past three years with Tennessee. He has shown us that he can run with any other top-tier wide receiver in this league and he can make the same impact for the Titans that Calvin Johnson does for the Detroit Lions.

He is quick, tall, runs good routes, creates separation, can catch just about everything, and he has one of the most explosive vertical games in the league. With these abilities, it is hard to imagine how he isn’t considered a top-tier receiver yet, but off the field issues, injuries, and the influx of new receivers have seen Britt’s value fall for the Titans.

The factor that will push his talent to make a revival is his determination.

Britt has been focused this offseason and has the attitude of a receiver who is ready to prove himself all over again. To prove that he still belongs on this team and that he is still a top-tier wide receiver and is capable of being that for this Titans team. His attitude recently has reflected that.

In a recent Twitter post he stated, “Stay hungry.. Wait for no one.. You want it.. Go get it.” A few days later he posted this, “Diff between me and you.. You wait for it.. I go get it.”

This is a fresh attitude from Britt and one that shows that he is ready to be a leader for this team again and is ready to prove he has what it takes. The attitude that nothing is given to you only earned is one that seems to be running through the mind of Britt right now and he needs to keep it that way for the entire season.

Having Britt back to his former self could do wonders for this offense and team. It would solidify a leader on our receiving core and bring back an offensive weapon that the Titans planned on having when they drafted it 4 years ago. I think Britt is on the right track to doing just that. He has the talent to do it, if his attitude falls in line behind it, this could just be Britt’s breakout year.
