Tennessee Titans to Improve Sack Numbers

Today on Paul Kuharsky’s blog, he was talking about whether or not the Tennessee Titans will improve upon their sack numbers from this last year and if they’ve done enough to address that need.

I think they have.

Kamerion Wimbley was a huge addition for the Titans and he’s a great player. He hasn’t been a full-time DE since his college days but I full expect him to be a terror on the line. My guess would be that he registers around 10 sacks this first year at DE. Hopefully we’ll see a fully healthy Derrick Morgan this year and the Titans will finally get the production they drafted him for. Add the additions of DT Mike Martin and DE Scott Solomon and you’ve got a pretty good looking line.

You can also look for more from the linebackers. Ayers struggled in his rookie season but I expect him to flourish this next year. There’s also the fact that with every passing day, rookie OLB Zach Brown grows on me. Here’s a little quote from Brown in an article on the Tennessean today:

I use my finesse sometimes to get around the blocker to make a play,’’ Brown said after arriving in Nashville. “So for me, I want to prove everybody (I’m not soft). I am at Tennessee and I am going to try and make everybody else pay for passing me up, that is a chip on my shoulder.

Always nice to hear a player bringing that kind of attitude with him. From what I know, it sounds like he’s going to be in the running with Witherspoon for the starting weak side OLB spot. It’ll be fun to watch that competition play out. It also sounds as if Ayers will be rushing the passer more.

I’m dying to see just how productive the defense is this next season, not too mention the offense.

Look like I said in a previous post. Zach Brown isn’t necessarily soft he sometimes is so fast he misses tackles every now and then cause he overan the spot a lil. Its ok Bullock used to that all the time. He uses his quickness to get into position and makes the ball carrier head for the sideline That’s still a tackle. I saw him making plays an covering routes. He is going to be great for Us. That’s why ina previous post I said we should draft him in the second round and we did. I thought we were going DE but when we didn’t and missed out on peeps He was what I wanted still for sure. He’s AThletic and like I said can get to the spot fast. He will compliment the other great. I like it McCarty In. The middle three youngs guns that can grow together. Ayeers is good but go beat at times in coverage. Brown can cover and force people a back that tries to get outside to the sidelines and like he said he’s going to prove others wrong. I mean Carolina was pretty decent but they have been going thru some things for a couple of years. If your not getting te TV exposure and not playing in the big games on Saturday yeah I might not be throwing my body like a torpedo all around to risk my future every single snap either. Just saying people are like Dontari poe sucks he dosent have enough film He played for Memphis how much effort are you going to give knowing almost each week your team sux and your going to get beat almost every game. Sometimes these guys just domt want to ruin their chances by getting hurt unnecessarily when your dwon 30 to an Alabama or some other top ranked team with 6 to go in the fourth. Brown isn’t soft he’s savy. Reminds me of Keith Bullock soon as I watchedhim on you ube before the draft. Savy…….
