I am sad…

Very, very sad. And this hurts. This hurts very, very bad. Seeing so many opportunities blown makes me question so many things right now. My own mere existence even. There was nothing I could do but continue to lose my voice, and keep drinking beer. Even as I’m typing this, I’m getting upset. All that I can say right now is that this has been the most fun I’ve ever had following a team, and as painful as this is, they don’t say “there’s always next year” for nothing (whoever “they” are). I’m gonna take some time to heal, but I want to thank each and every one of you (you know who “you” are) for reading, writing, criticizing and offering advice along the way. It just should have ended differently…

Feel free to “vent”, like U-Turn, here over the next couple of days if you like. Maybe it’s about a cheap shot that the Ravens (allegedly) took on “Twitch” (causing him to leave the game for good. I still haven’t cared enough to see it, but I’ve heard). Or maybe it concerns some terrible officiating. Or it might be about, yet again, a few questionable coaching decisions made by Tennessee. Whatever it is, this is your safe place. We’ll get through this together.

Kellen, congratulations. I won’t give you any more than that, because you still know who the better team is, but congrats nonetheless. I hope the death that becomes you will be long and painful. Seriously, I mean that.

Over the next week or so, we will have a year in review, we’ll discuss the rest of the playoffs as they unfold, and we’ll also have a big “thank you” post to all of the wonderful people that have helped contribute to this blog since we signed on to run it last summer. But just because the Titans’ season is over doesn’t mean that we’re gonna go away until the draft or training camp. This will be a huge off-season for the Titans (do we sign Haynesworth?, what happens with Collins?, will Jim Schwartz be back with the team? And that’s just the tip of the iceberg…) so while we continue to follow that, we will also be talking about other things as well. Predators hockey. Sounds baseball. Major League Baseball. Vanderbilt athletics. Musical dance club. The works.

Basically, I’m asking all of you to keep reading this blog. Keep talking sports. Keep talking sports with us. And keep supporting your local sports, wherever you live. Keep your chins up Titans’ fans, because better days are ahead. But most importantly, keep on keepin’ on.

TITAN UP!
