Noteworthy performances from Titans win over Colts.
The Tennessee Titans played their division rival in the Indianapolis Colts for the second time this season, and Titans fans got to breathe a massive sigh of relief after they tied the series with a 45-26 win.
If Tennessee was looking for revenge in this game, they certainly found it. The Colts made the Titans look silly in their Week 10 matchup when they went to Nashville and won that game with a dominating second-half performance.
When the game mercifully ended, the final score was 34-17. However, in this game, the roles were reversed and the Titans got the AFC South crown back as they took their revenge on Indianapolis.
This was a dominant win for the Titans, with great games on both sides of the ball. Key players made key plays, and players stepped up in their roles.
However, there were also some bad performances. Some players definitely could have played better in order to make the win even more dominant.

Good: Breon Borders, CB
Breon Borders has played shockingly well since the Tennessee Titans decided to shake up the defensive back group.

The headlines were about Johnathan Joseph being cut and Tye Smith and Kristian Fulton going to I.R. When it wasn’t that, it was a barrage of “When will Adoree Jackson be back?” tweets. However, quietly the Titans had a plan in mind and that plan was to give the 25-year-old journeyman a shot.
Borders locked up his matchup, not giving up a touchdown for the fourth straight game. Repeating common mistake teams have made since Borders entered the lineup, Philip Rivers tried to take advantage of him and targeted Borders six times.
However, the cornerback allowed only two catches for 22 yards. He also had an interception and a pass deflection that was really just a dropped pick-six that he would have walked in for what would have been his first career turnover.
Breon Borders is making sure his name is known, and he’s doing a pretty good job.

Good: A.J. Brown/Corey Davis, WR’s
The dynamic duo of wide receivers showed out today in what is becoming a habit.
A.J. Brown had another game where he showed his ability to produce big plays on little volume. His four receptions led to 98 yards and a touchdown, including his 69-yard touchdown that opened the game up for the Titans.
Not only that, but something that we don’t see too often in the NFL happened when Brown recovered an onside kick for a touchdown, blowing by the kicking team.
Brown will need to be more consistent week in and week out if this team wants to win more games against big opponents, but it is easy to ignore drops when you look at what he can do when he actually gets the ball.
Corey Davis kept his streak of good games going this week, as he quietly was able to make key plays and catches to help Tannehill in dire situations.
His route running is getting better every game, and the subtle things are becoming very noticeable. It seems as if every time Ryan Tannehill needs a check down option, Davis is always there. He is another player who finished with low volume, but high production. His three receptions lead to a sneaky 70 yards, including a key 4th down conversion.

Bad: Jonnu Smith (I guess)
This one was tough, usually I would have two separate articles for good and bad performances. However, today the Titans were very dominant and there weren’t very many bad performances.
If there was one player that could have stepped it up, I would say tight end Jonnu Smith.
Smith was one of the best tight ends in the league last season towards the back end. He was also very good at the beginning of the season, he was getting looked at a lot by Tannehill with 6.8 targets a game through the first four.
However, that number has dropped significantly as he finished this game with just three receptions for 33 yards.
I should note that even though Jonnu Smith has been gutting it out and doing the dirty work like blocking and occasionally moving the chains, there is a strong indication that he is dealing with a real injury.
After leaving the game against the Houston Texans with an ankle injury in Week 6, Smith hasn’t been 100%. You can look at the numbers and let me know if you think that he is 100% healthy.
Before Houston (4 games): 18 receptions, 221 yards, 5 TDs
After Houston (6 games): 11 receptions, 104 yards, 2 TDs (1 rushing TD)
