Half the fun of watching the Super Bowl comes from the funny commercials that break up the game. Heck, half the people watching the game are doing it just for the commercials.

*Pardon my rant. I usually keep my posting to the Titans, but I just felt the need to get this one of my chest.

When Yahoo! and Youtube post the commercials a week ahead of the Super Bowl, the mystery and anticipation is ruined. It’s like opening all your presents before Christmas and then covering them back up with the torn wrapping paper and putting them back under the tree to open again on Christmas day.

We all enjoy seeing the funny commercials. It’s become a huge part of the Super Bowl. Sometimes the advertisements fall a little short of funny, having tried too hard, but by golly, I’d like to have the opportunity to wait until the commercial actually airs.

I’m tired of the people next to me saying “OH! This is a good one!” and proceeding to quote the commercial word for word as it airs. I make a point of it to avoid seeing the commercials before they air real-time. Are they really even “Super Bowl” commercials if they’re being seen before the Super Bowl? If they’re seen before the Super Bowl, they’re really just a commercial that happens to be airing at the same time as Super Bowl… and they paid a load of money for that air time.

But that’s just me.

At least this year the game looks like it’ll be a great one. The past few haven’t really captured my attention.
