So there’s a bit of breaking news this Sunday morning as the Buffalo Bills announce the hiring of their new head coach Doug Marrone. Marrone had just won a bowl game with Syracuse University and had been their coach for 4 years. Prior to that, Marrone had NFL experience as the New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator from 2006-2008, and the NY Jets offensive line coach before that.

The Bill’s had been publicly aggressive in their hunt for a new coach. They had interviewed Lovie Smith, Ray Horton, Chip Kelly, and Ken Wisenhunt. After having these names in the building I’m not exactly sure how excited the fan base in Buffalo could be right now. I’m assuming not very.

What this means to the Titans:

That’s now 2 of 7 coaching spots filled without Norv Turner, Ken Wisenhunt, Romeo Crennel or Lovie Smith.

I would like to say that every coach hired just increases the odds of the Titans landing one of these guys for a coordinator position, but in reality it probably doesn’t matter. The Mike Tice interview never even happened (thankfully), and the only coach interviewed so far was for the QB coaching position.

Jim Wyatt has said that the odds are Dowell Loggains remains the offensive coordinator next year and, unfortunately, he’s usually right about these things. With my dreams of Norv Turner and Jake Locker becoming fast friends relatively dashed, I will still hold out a little hope of Crennel wearing two toned blue on the sideline for us.

2 down. 5 to go.

The Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills game was another last minute thriller. Both teams had lackluster performances from their defenses while the offenses started a shoot-out.

Tennessee’s defense brought it together in the final minutes with an interception that would lead to the game winning TD pass to Nate Washington. They also stopped the Bills offense’s last attempt to come back, forcing a 4-and-out, capped off by a well called blitz.

This game was more than anyone could ask for when watching football. The Titans continue to bring games down to the final minute.

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick had a great day if you take away the costly pick, throwing for 225 yards, 3 TD’s, and 1 INT. The Bills also had great success with their run game. Fred Jackson found 71 yards on 9 carries while Spiller found 70 yards on 12 carries.

Chris Johnson had another fine performance against the Bills, carrying the ball 18 times for 195 yards and 2 TD’s. Johnson had an 83 yard TD run in the first quarter that set the tone for his day. He also had a key run at the end to bring the Titans close to the Bills redzone.

Titans DE Derrick Morgan teamed up with DE Kamerion Wimbley early in the game for a sack/fumble that helped them take the lead early in the game.

In the end the Titans pulled off the win through a 4 and 9 pass from Hasselbeck to Nate Washington which would give the Titans the lead by one point.

FINAL SCORE: Titans 35 – Bills 34

The Tennessee Titans square off against the Buffalo Bills today at Ralph Wilson Stadium at 12:00 PM CT. It’s an even matchup on paper and should make for a great game to watch.

The Buffalo Bills have a great RB tandem in C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson. Titans RB Chris Johnson is looking to keep the good times a rollin’ after coming off a 99 yard game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

MLB Colin McCarthy is looking like a game time decision, though you’d expect him to play after having 10 days rest for his ankle w/o practice.
