An intriguing draft option for the Tennessee Titans is BYU DE Ezekiel Ansah out of BYU. Ziggy is an extremely freaky prospect, and should be considered.

I have stated my love for G Chance Warmack, but my interest in Ansah was sparked when I watched some of his highlights.

Here’s why:

Freak Athlete- A former basketball/track athlete turned football player has only been playing the game for three years and he shows huge potential as not just a pass-rusher, but an all around football player. He consistently batted balls down, was in the backfield, and even made some nice plays in coverage. His instincts and athletic ability are an intriguing combination.

Motor- He is relentless and plays mean. Whether it is coming around the edge for a sack, or chasing a ball carrier down the opposite end of the field. He is freakishly fast on the field for his size and he doesn’t take plays off.

Pass-Rushing Ability- Yes he is raw, but he appears to be a quick learner. In what I saw he uses his hands well, has a nice combo of speed and power, and has the ability to dip his shoulder on the edge. He has natural raw tools that he can expand on as his development moves forward.

The Draft is nearing and the Titans have options with pick #10.

In the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft, I believe it would be prudent for the Tennessee Titans to invest their 10th overall pick in Alabama guard Chance Warmack. What do the Titans do in the next two rounds?

In no particular order, in the 2nd and 3rd rounds the Titans should look to boost their offensive line depth and defensive playmaking ability. Here are two players the Titans should target:

Feb 21, 2013; Indianapolis, IN, USA; Alabama offensive lineman Barrett Jones speaks at a press conference during the 2013 NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Barrett Jones, OL, Alabama

Jones has been a stud ever since he stepped on the Alabama campus. For the past three years, Jones has been a top offensive lineman in college football. What makes him appealing is that he is versatile. He has played—and succeeded—at every position on the offensive line.

The Titans have made a commitment to upgrading the offensive line with the addition of G Andy Levitre. They have also improved their depth on the line with the signings of OL Rob Turner and OL Chris Spencer. Drafting Jones would add to the depth across the line. Also, down the line, he could develop into a starter and replace either of the Titans current tackles. Michael Roos and David Stewart are both over the age of 30. And if Fernando Velasco struggles, Jones could be a possible replacement at Center.

Feb 26, 2013; Indianapolis, IN, USA; Louisiana State defensive end Tyrann Mathieu catches a pass during the NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Tyrann Mathieu, DB, LSU

Another player the Titans should target is DB Tyrann Mathieu. The former Heisman candidate is a playmaker. He is physical, has above-average ball skills and has the ability to strip the ball loose or make an interception. He does, however, come with some baggage. With the path he appears to be on, and the amount of talent he has, this pick is worth the risk. He would add a “swagger” and attitude to the defense that new coach Gregg Williams loves and that the Titans defense desperately needs.

Recently, GM Ruston Webster stated in The Tennessean that the team is most likely finished spending in what has been a very active free agency period for the Tennessee Titans. Now the focus shifts to the draft, which is later this month.

Who do the Titans pick at number ten?

Simple, draft crush OG Chance Warmack from Alabama. I have, for the past couple of months, been on the Warmack bandwagon. The pick just makes too much sense for the Titans. Lets break down why.

The Titans addressed the need of LG with the signing of Andy Levitre. The only real hole on the offensive line now is RG. Enter Chance Warmack. He has been touted as the best guard to enter the draft since former Titan Steve Hutchinson. He is also even considered by some as the best player in the entire draft. There is clear value in drafting Warmack with the 10th pick.

Who are the Titans two most important players on offense? Answer: RB Chris Johnson and QB Jake Locker. Building as strong a line as possible around a superstar running back and a young quarterback makes sense, right? More holes for CJ and more time for Locker will in turn make this offense more explosive and dynamic.

The Titans have spent a ton of picks on skill players on the offensive side of the ball. Now it’s time for them to build in the trenches so that the skill players they have invested in can flourish.

21 days…
