The Tennessee Titans have put forth a pretty decent season this year. They have been close in every game, except the ones where they blew opponents out.

More from Titans News

It isn’t just me or you that has taken notice either, the folks over at NFL media have also seen some changes in the team in Nashville. While they may not have a favorite Titans player yet, they are seeing that this is a team that is going to play for four quarters and it also has an identity.

So, it should be no surprise to see that some of those writers and former player voted for the Titans in their recent midseason poll of which team in each division should win.

  • Let’s look at who they voted on to finish with the AFC South crown.

    1st place tie: Tennessee Titans

7 votes: Maurice Jones-Drew, Brian Billick, Gregg Rosenthal, Ike Taylor, Colleen Wolfe, Marcus Grant, Adam Rank

What?! I honestly am surprised to see this even though it makes sense. The Titans defense is getting some notice and Marcus Mariota has been playing at an elite level the past four weeks. If you don’t believe me, think about this: at the rate of his last four games Marcus Mariota would have been on pace to score 44 touchdowns and throw only 4 interceptions.

    1st place tie: Houston Texans

7 votes: Jeff Chadiah, Gil Brandt, Willie McGinest, Adam Schein, David Carr, Charley Casserly, Alex Gelhar

They are on top of the division standings now so this makes sense. However, once you pressure Brock Osweiler it is over, he shuts down or panics. The Titans have a better team than the Texans from top to bottom as they are right now, and if not for a special teams touchdown and a slow start the Titans would be on top of this division.

    3rd place- Indianapolis Colts

    1 vote: Judy Battista

Wow, how the mighty have fallen. Only one vote for the Colts! That would be a huge shift in divisional power with Andrew Luck healthy and playing well

    4th place- Jacksonville Jaguars

    Sorry Jaguars, no voters.
