Happy Mothers Day!

Before we get into the happenings around Music City and the Tennessee Titans, I want to take a minute in order to wish a Very Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms out there including mine “God rest her soul”. Being born and raised in Texas at the begining of the last century, she didn’t really understand the game, but she would watch “Them Cowboys” and she knew how to read the score board. Happy Mothers Day in heaven Mom, I miss you.

Todd McShay takes a stab at Titans’ first-rounder in 2016 – Paul Kuharsky ESPN Tennessee Titans Reporter

"Football Outsiders projects the Tennessee Titans to be 6-10 in 2015, which would land them fourth in the draft order.ESPN’s Todd McShay jokes about doing a 2016 mock draft less than a week after the 2015 draft. But he also mentions how well read it is.At No. 4  at this point McShay has the Titans taking Laremy Tunsil, an offensive tackle from Ole Miss. Tunsil is the first offensive player off the board who is not a quarterback."

Titans have much riding on Marcus Mariota pick – Jim Wyatt The Tennesseean

"Let’s face it: Before the draft, the Titans were a blip on the NFL radar. If you disagree, check out the schedule — it includes 14 noon kickoffs. Even in Nashville, many fans had lost interest.Picking Mariota changed that in an instant. Tickets and jerseys began selling. There’s a buzz in the city. Mariota is featured on the current edition of Sports Illustrated. Yes, the Titans are relevant again.Training camp should be more interesting, the preseason should be worth watching, and if all goes well, the season will provide intrigue and excitement. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen fans so excited."

Three Reasons Mariota Will Save the Tennessee Titans – Jordan Ingram FishDuck.com

"There’s a new sheriff or two in Nashville. Along with Tennessee Titans’ second-year head coach Ken Whisenhunt, former Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota has joined a freshly assembled Titans’ posse, and is already regarded as THE guy in Tennessee. The NFL franchise that once boasted the careers of Earl Campbell,Warren Moon and Steve McNair, capitalized big time by swooping up the Heisman Trophy-winner at No. 2 in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft."

Titans’ Regime Buys Time by Drafting Marcus Mariota – Marc Macaluso Pro Football Spot

"With the No. 2 pick, the Titans selected Mariota in what some called a “flash-point” in Titans history. With this pick, everything changed. Titans fans are excited to see what Mariota can do in the two-tone blue and how Whisenhunt will adjust his system to get the most out of the talented rookie. It also bought Whisenhunt and Webster at least one more year in Tennessee after this season, and most likely two.Mariota will be expected to start from the get-go in Tennessee, but will need at least two years to develop as an NFL quarterback. Gone are the days of Steve McNair and Aaron Rodgers, when a QB is drafted in the first round and gets a chance to develop for a few years before he’s thrown into the fire. Mariota will learn on the fly and take his lumps, but ownership and fans know it won’t happen overnight. Drafting Mariota was not only the right move, but also a smart move for Whisenhunt and Webster’s job security."

This one is for you Mom!

Scott Linehan: Dez Bryant will be ready to ‘rock and roll’ – Todd Archer ESPN

"Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has not taken part in the offseason program yet as he yet to sign the franchise tag tender, but offensive coordinator Scott Linehan is not too worried.“He’ll be ready to rock and roll when it’s all said and done, I’m sure of that,” Linehan said."
