And now fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
For years, Tennessee Titans fans have watched the organization let star players go, and it’s been no different this offseason. The departure of Alterraun Verner will undoubtedly leave a hole in the Titans’ defense, but one player who is at least interested in sticking around is Jurrell Casey.

Jurrell Casey is in the final year of his deal, but Tennessee seems adamant about keeping him around, beginning extension discussions earlier this week. Last season, he had a career high 90 tackles and 10.5 sacks, despite not making it to the Pro Bowl. Casey has also lost 15 pounds this offseason, and it will likely benefit him as he moves to the outside in the 3-4 defensive scheme this season.
Other players who are notably reaching the end of their contracts include Jake Locker, Brett Kern and Derrick Morgan. We’ll have to wait and see if the Titans pursue any of these players as hard as they went after Casey this offseason.
