Tennessee Titans Projected to have 2nd-Easiest 2014 Schedule

Fansided.com editor-in-chief Josh Sanchez published a piece that features the five teams with the NFL’s softest strength of schedules. All four of the softest schedules come from AFC South teams. The Tennessee Titans are projected to have the easiest scheduled based on their opponents’ 2013 seasons.

Let’s take a look (LINK).

  1. Indianapolis Colts, opponents 2013 record: 110-146 (.430)
  2. Tennessee Titans, opponents 2013 record: 112-144 (.438)
  3. Houston Texans, opponents 2013 record: 113-143 (.441)
  4. Jacksonville Jaguars, opponents 2013 record: 116-140 (.453)

Projecting schedule difficulty doesn’t mean much. Remember that “killer” 2013 stretch that everyone worried about? The first four games were against the Pittsburgh Steelers (road), Houston Texans (road), San Diego Chargers (home) and New York Jets (home). The Titans finished that off with a 3-1 record, their only loss coming in overtime against Houston. Only one of those teams finished with an above-.500 record. The Chargers had to finish with four consecutive wins just to get to 9-7.

Every other divisional rival has ‘easy’ schedules. So it evens out. All that matters is how good these teams are when they played them during the 2014-15 season. Oh, and how good the Titans are playing when they face them.
