Nicholas Pitakos:

This is another team that could go a few directions with their pick, but I just can’t see the Giants passing up on a massive interior lineman here with Aaron Donald. The depth chart at DT for the Giants is abysmal. They need major help in the middle to create havoc, stuff the run, and someone who has a relentless motor. Losing Linval Joseph will show unless they address this need early. Donald fits the exact bill they are trying to find. Expect Donald to hold the middle down for the Giants for years to come.

Matt Ward:

Aaron Donald lacks the prototypical size for an NFL interior lineman, but what he showed in college stood out even more-so at the Senior Bowl as he harassed opposing quarterbacks and gave top offensive line prospects fits. The Giants have a need for a playmaker in the middle of their defensive line after letting Linval Joseph walk via free agency. This pick fits like a hand in a glove.
