Tennessee Titans Twitter Talk: A Salute to Ryan Fitzpatrick

In case you missed it, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was officially let go by the Tennessee TitansAnd with that, it would appear that some Titans are extremely appreciative of his service.

Looking back on Fitzpatrick’s career with Tennessee, it’s hard to not remember him fondly. While he wasn’t the star the team was hoping for when crunch time rolled around, Fitzpatrick was still a leader come playing time. He also proved to be worthwhile – sometimes even spreading a little “FitzMagic” – when starting quarterback Jake Locker was nursing injuries.

While playing for the Titans, Fitzpatrick threw for 14 touchdowns and finished with an 82 passer rating. He wasn’t considered as starter material when Locker was healthy, but maybe he’ll find a good home as a backup elsewhere – a backup who’s taken seriously.

For now, Titans Nation waves good-bye to a quarterback who was willing to step up in the face of adversity, and these guys are hard to come by in this day and age.
