REPORT: Jackie Battle, Tennessee Titans Re-Sign No. 3 RB

Re-signing Jackie Battle gives the Tennessee Titans some special teams depth and another power back behind Shonn Greene. The 30-year-old finished his first season with the following stat line: 36 carries for 142 yards with one touchdown. This was the third-most productive season of his career.

This leaves the Titans with two halfbacks under contract. It won’t have any impact on whether the team re-signs Chris Johnson. The franchise must decide on whether they’re willing to meet Johnson’s $10 million cap number. Even if they don’t, one can expect the team to pursue someone via the 2014 NFL Draft. Auburn running back Tre Mason has been rumored as someone who visited the Titans at the 2014 NFL combine.

Any opinion or insight on Battle returning for at least training camp and possibly the 2014-15 regular season? Give us your take in the comments, Twitter or Facebook.
