Tommy Smith; “This is a new day for the #Titans. We are moving forward.”

And let’s hope it is.
Tommy Smith is one of many new faces that have been brought into / taken a bigger role in the Tennessee Titans organization over the past few months. Fans, who haven’t seen their team in the playoffs since 2008, are hoping that Smith can keep his word.
While the 2014-15 regular season is still far away, the Titans will need to do something different to ensure that they aren’t on the outside looking in at the end of the day. They already began making moves toward a better future with the firing of head coach Mike Munchak and the signing of Ken Whisenhunt.
Now, we have to wait and see where they’ll go in terms of free agents. Pro Bowler Alterraun Verner is supposedly testing the markets, and the Titans aren’t ready to toss him a hefty contract. Bernard Pollard, who evolved into a locker-room leader last season, hasn’t shown any interest in seeking a contract to stay in Tennessee. Chris Johnson hasn’t made any progress toward a new deal, assuming he wants to hang with the the Titans.
However, it’s worth noting that in all of these instances, the organization hasn’t shown an open desire to bring back any of these players — so what type of future does it really envision? We’ll have to wait and see.
