Higher Priority between Alterraun Verner, Bernard Pollard? Poll from Joshua Huffman

Poll results from “Fan Poll: Higher Priority between Alterraun Verner, Bernard Pollard?” Article and poll HERE. Voting range: Feb. 6-9.

Alterraun Verner and Bernard Pollard are both scheduled to become free agents. If the Tennessee Titans could only retain one player, who would they prioritize higher? Who would the fans side with if it came down to “one or the other?”

Two people were either trolling or have some entirely original thoughts on the Titans’ defensive backfield situation. Regardless, this was a difficult question because it’s safe to assume that most fans are hoping that both of them will return. Maybe that will happen. I’d love to see both of them re-signed at reasonable rates.

Which player has the higher priority? The way I feel about the situation appears to have been summed up in this poll with a 130-vote sample size: slightly toward Pollard. I’m more confident that Tennessee can immediately replace a No. 2 cornerback because of the young players they have behind Verner. Most notably, Coty Sensabaugh and Blidi Wreh-Wilson.  Pollard should also come at a halfway reasonable rate.

There’s no right or wrong answer to this question—well, perhaps “letting them both walk” is wrong. Feel free to defend your position on that stance. If the Titans allow one of them to walk, management must correct that deficiency either through talent they already have on the roster, free agency or the draft.
