Tennessee Titans: Nate Kaczor Among Returning Coaches

Jerry Gray and Gregg Williams were no longer under contract. It doesn’t appear like either will return for the 2014-15 NFL season. That ‘s not surprising when one considers that first-year Tennessee Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt tends to prefer defensive coordinators with more experience in the 3-4 alignment.

Probably the only somewhat eye-opener among the returning head coaches is Nate Kaczor. His special teams improved when they found a capable return specialist with Leon Washington. Before that, Darius Reynaud and Devon Wylie were costing Tennessee valuable points, field possession and wins because of their inability to know when to return kicks and punts.

Maybe a second season will do him some good? One can hope. Just make sure he has some returners. And Brett Kern, don’t drop anymore snaps.

It’s good to see Shawn Jefferson and Sylvester Croom staying. Jefferson did fine work with Kendall Wright. Justin Hunter may very well break out in his second season.

Any opinions on these coaches who are staying and/or leaving? Give your take in the comments, Twitter or Facebook.
