“This is a big day for this franchise,” #Titans President/CEO Tommy Smith said. “Ken is a well-respected coach in this league.”

If you missed it, Ken Whisenhunt is the new kid in town.
The Tennessee Titans nabbed Whisenhunt on Monday after ditching former head coach Mike Munchak, and fans were seemingly happy about the decision. Munchak didn’t get the cut until well after “Black Monday” in the NFL, which had many people worrying about the head coach candidates left on the market.
President and CEO Tommy Smith made a quick move to sign Whisenhunt. He was one of many people the Titans had been interviewing beforehand — Tennessee had just met with defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer before making a final decision on Whisenhunt.
Now, of course, the main question is when the Titans will clean house. One has to imagine that Whisenhunt is going to bring in his own coordinators, so Jerry Gray‘s days may be limited. Only time will tell what will happen to newcomers such as Gregg Williams, but this is all presumably the beginning of a fresh start for the Titans.
