Creating a Staff

A head coach is only as good as the staff that he puts together. Whisenhunt put together some quality staffs during his team with Arizona. His defensive coordinator for the 2011 and 2012 Cardinals teams: Ray Horton. Horton is another potential candidate to replace Jerry Gray as the defensive coordinator. It doesn’t appear like Gregg Williams is an option because Whisenhunt’s background is to complement his offenses with someone running a 3-4 defensive scheme.

One thing to note: Whisenhunt intends to call his own plays.

If we can draft Khalil Mack @ #11, we potentially have a mix of LB talent for the 3-4 (Mack, Brown, Ayers, McCathy, Fokou, Gooden). As for NT, can Sammie Lee Hill play the 1-technique? Morgan, Casey, Martin, Klug, Hill, Edwards, Pitoitua are decent fodder for the DC to deploy a 3-man line.
