The Tennessee Titans have hired Ken Whisenhunt to fill their head coaching vacancy. The former offensive coordinator of the San Diego Chargers decided to take the Titans head coaching job just one day after losing to the Denver Broncos on Sunday. He has already begun to search for coaches to fill out his staff. The possible hire recently caught steam the past two days and there was a sense that the Titans were a real player.

Whisenhunt has an offensive background. He used to be the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, where he led them to the playoffs twice and Super Bowl once.

The Titans were believed to heavily interested in one of the Seattle Seahawks coordinators, but were never able to interview one of the candidates since Seattle remains in the playoffs.

More to come.
