Tennessee Titans: Sign Tyler Wilson, Waive John Skelton

Nothing to criticize here. Tyler Wilson is more of an unknown prospect and has more upside than John Skelton. Rusty Smith will finish the season as the No. 2 quarterback. After Wilson has a full season to familiarize himself with the offense, maybe he dethrones Smith or even Ryan Fitzpatrick on the depth chart?

It’s worth noting that Wilson, while he was the No. 112 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, didn’t make the 53-man roster cuts following his first preseason with the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders have used three different starting quarterbacks this season: Terrelle Pryor, Matthew McGloin and Matt Flynn. McGloin was an undrafted free agent out of Penn State University who beat out Wilson for a roster spot.

Who knows how any new head coach would like Wilson. There’s no harm to bringing him in though. Keep an eye on this as preseason approaches.
