New #Titans return man Leon Washington will wear No. 26

That’s right — Veteran return man Leon Washington is now a member of the Tennessee Titans.
This was arguably the news of the week coming after a victory against the Oakland Raiders last Sunday. The Titans, who rank 19th in kickoff returns, could use Washington badly. The team embarrassed itself earlier in the year with Darius Reynaud in the return spot, allowing him to foil away must-win games with his follies.
Washington hasn’t seen much action so far this season. He started out the year with the New England Patriots, only to be cut after debuting in two games. When he hit the wire on Nov. 23, the Titans were all over it.
This coming Sunday, the Titans will face off against the Indianapolis Colts, who they lost to less than three weeks ago on Thursday Night Football. If they can squeak out a victory, they’ll move within one game of first place in the AFC South. Last weekend with a win against Oakland, the Titans positioned themselves for a wildcard spot in the AFC playoffs.
Things are looking up for this team, but it’s important not to get too hasty. Tennessee will need to play the Denver Broncos on the road following the trip to Indianapolis. The Steelers, Ravens, Jets and Chargers also share the same 5-6 record as the Titans, meaning anything can change between now and the final week of the regular season.
