Imagine that you’re a Tennessee Titans fan who’s making his or her first visit to LP Field. Maybe you’ve attended previous games but always had to deal with seats in the nosebleed section. You’re approximately 400-500 miles away from Nashville. Your journey will consist of a weekend road trip that begins on Friday and ends on Sunday evening. You spent those days taking in everything from Downtown Nashville, other nearby areas (e.g. Brentwood) and a game.
That briefly describes the journeys of two Ohioans who visited LP Field during the Nov. 10 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Titan Sized staff writer and Ohio State University student Nicholas Pitakos (@NPitak) and Titan Sized contributor Sean Maczko (@Franchize_HOF) both made the trip for this game. This was Pitako’s first game at LP Field. For Maczko, it was his experience watching a game with front row seats.
Both contributors share their memories as they recall all of the events leading into the game, during the game and afterward. What’s it like to travel 400-plus miles to witness a loss to a Jaguars team who had been 0-8 entering that contest?
As a bonus, editor Joshua Huffman includes his experience during a Courtyard by Marriott tailgating event that was held before the Indianapolis Colts contest. This tailgate was held at the downtown headquarters in Nashville. Special guest Eddie George answered questions from numerous attendees, some of which were awkward. He ended the session with an autograph signing.
