Tennessee Titans: Studs, Duds, Grades & Reaction vs St. Louis Rams

Chris Johnson
23 carries for 150 yard with two touchdowns? Despite the Rams having one of the NFL’s weaker run defenses, it was great to see Johnson break off some good runs and attack the holes. The Titans need a strong ground game to complement a game-management style from Locker.

Shonn Greene
This was Greene’s first significant action since Week 1. He made a difference with his goal-line running, short-yardage capabilities and a 28-yard reception. His presence allowed Johnson to stay fresh for the third and fourth quarter.

Offensive Line (Run Blocking)
It all starts up front. So when the running back has a strong game, you almost have to give credit to the men upfront. They’re a big reason for Johnson breaking out of his 46 carries for 110 yards slump.

Jurrell Casey
Two more sacks from Casey, one of which resulted in a fumble recovery for Derrick Morgan. That led to a short field, which led to the Titans scoring the game-winning touchdown drive with a 19-yard run from Johnson.

Dowell Loggains (Offensive Coordinator)
Loggains has gotten some heat because of his abandonment of the run offense and the way he used Johnson. When the Titans fell behind 14-7, Loggains avoided the temptation to abandon the ground game. He may have relied on it even more. It was good to see Johnson used on more counters, tosses and outside running plays.
