Ben Greene (6-1)
Tennessee Titans 27
St. Louis Rams 13
I have never been a fan of the “must-win game” tag, especially for midseason match ups. However, in my mind, this week’s contest against the Rams is a must-win game for the Titans.
The team has lost three straight to fall below .500 and needs to right the ship to keep its playoff hopes alive. Now, Tennessee is coming off a bye, Jake Locker is healthy and the Titans are playing a Rams team that has a short week to prepare for its second game without its starting quarterback. In short, there is no reason the Titans should lose this game.
Although the Rams shocked the world on Monday night by not getting blown out by the Seahawks, I do not expect them to have as much success, especially defensively, against Tennessee. First off, Seattle is not at all the same team when it plays on the road, and second, the Titans should play like it has something to prove after in their first game after their worst showing of the season against the 49ers. Also, the offensive line finally started to block for Chris Johnson early on in that San Francisco game, so maybe Tennessee’s ground attack will get back to where it was during the first three games of the season.
