Week 7 features a matchup against two physical football teams who have similar identities—or at least, would like to have similar identities.

On Oct. 20, the Tennessee Titans will host the San Francisco 49ers. After losing two of their first three games, the 49ers have rededicated themselves to the ground-and-pound mentality that brought them so much success over the last two seasons. They’ve enjoyed double-digit victories in each of their last three games. Patrick Willis has recently returned from a groin injury. Top pass-rush specialist Aldon Smith could miss the rest of the season as he deals with personal issues.

The Titans will try to avoid a third consecutive defeat that would have them heading into the bye week with a sub-.500 record (3-4). They haven’t been able to find any offensive success since Jake Locker went out with a sprained hip. The Seattle Seahawks held the Titans offense to two field goals. The Titans’ only touchdown came on a 77-yard botched snap return on a field-goal attempt.

Here are some NFL picks vs spread for the 49ers at Titans Week 7 matchup. All lines are from covers.com as of Oct. 16. The 49ers are 4-2. The Titans are 3-3. The 49ers are 4-point favorites (-4). Over/under is 40.
