Titans vs Jets: Studs, Duds, Grades & Reaction for Tennessee

Jake Locker
The Titans needed efficient quarterback play. That’s exactly what Locker gave them. Locker completed 18-of-24 passes for 149 yards with three touchdowns before leaving the game with a hip injury in the third quarter.

The Titans have started the season with no giveaways in their first four games. Stingy defense and ball protection will win a lot of games.

Alterraun Verner
It’s hard to believe that Verner nearly lost his starting job to Tommie Campbell. Verner added two interceptions and a fumble recovery to his impressive 2013 resume. Unlike Kenny Britt, Verner knows how to perform during a contract year. Speaking of Britt, he should return next week.

Zach Brown
Senior defensive assistant Gregg Williams has helped Brown blossom into a star. Brown had six tackles, four quarterback hits and a sack. He spent most of the game wreaking havoc on Jets quarterback Geno Smith.

Nate Washington
Second consecutive game with more than 100 receiving yards. Washington had two touchdowns, one of which came on a 77-yard strike from Ryan Fitzpatrick. Even the back judge couldn’t stop him on that play.

Other Studs: Ropati Pitoitua, Derrick Morgan, Karl Klug, Damian Williams, Justin Hunter
