It took an overtime loss before the Tennessee Titans earned some attention. How will they perform as a three-point favorite to a San Diego Chargers team that has beaten them nine consecutive times since 1992?
ESPN “expert” analysts have made their picks. Of 13 respondents, eight of them took the Titans to beat the Chargers. The ESPN pick’em community favors the Chargers.
Do Chargers fans care? No chance. Last week, all 13 ESPN analysts picked the Philadelphia Eagles to defeat the Chargers. In Week 1, Mike Ditka was the only analyst who picked the Titans to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers. There was either unanimous agreement or 12-of-13 agreement when the Houston Texans played the Chargers (Week 1) and Titans (Week 2).
There’s no doubt that the experts have a poor understanding for each of these teams. Both teams have looked much better than advertised during the preseason. On Sep. 22, the Titans will host their home-opener against the Chargers. The winner will advance to 2-1. There’s no lack of confidence from either fan base. Titan Sized staff members favored the Chargers, 5-0. A few Chargers commenters have voiced their opinions on why the Chargers will win.
