#Titans running back Shonn Greene had arthroscopic knee surgery on Monday, per sources. Could miss a few weeks

Not the most encouraging Shonn Greene injury update news that one could hope for. At least this injury comes during a three-game home stretch and they have Jackie Battle as an insurance policy. This would’ve been much harder to swallow had the Titans not kept Battle on their 53-man roster. No one wanted to see Darius Reynaud or Jalen Parmele as the running backs who would’ve been promoted to No. 2.
Chris Johnson already receives the bulk of the carries. What Greene is useful for is his ability to use his aggressive running style at the goal line and on third-and-short situations. Last season, Greene was 11-for-11 on converting 3rd-and-1s. For Greene, it’s disappointing because he’ll miss the Week 4 matchup against the New York Jets. From 2009-12, Greene was a vital member of a Jets offense that had back-to-back AFC Championship appearances in 2009 and 2010.
How concerned are readers about this injury? Will it have a major effect on the offense? Could Collin Mooney see a couple carries in his absence? Discuss in the comments, Twitter or Facebook.
