While it may be only Monday, Tennessee Titans fans are already looking ahead to the Week 3 matchup against the San Diego Chargers, especially after Sunday’s heartbreaking overtime loss.

In Houston, the Titans fell to the Texans after a hard-fought battle that had the good, the bad and the ugly. One thing was for certain: at the end of the game, despite the 30-24 loss, this isn’t the same team from 2012. The 2013 Titans aren’t going to roll over and die when it matters most. That makes them one of the most exciting teams in football at the moment.

Tennessee will undoubtedly be hungry for a victory after getting close to one in Week 2. The Chargers are coming off their own stellar performance against the Philadelphia Eagles, squeezing out a 33-30 win. Wide receiver Eddie Royal and quarterback Philip Rivers hooked up three times for touchdowns, meaning they have plenty of fire power to challenge the Titans defense.

But how much should Tennessee be worried?

The defense had two critical interceptions and two sacks when they needed them badly against the Texans. Zach Brown continues to prove himself on the field as a valuable defensive asset while Bernard Pollard finally made some headlines for more than just his mouth. Pollard had a critical interception late in the Titans’ Week 2 matchup.

For these reasons, it seems that the Titans have nothing to fear but fear itself heading into their home-opener. It’s a new era in Nashville.

Should be an interesting game. The Chargers have done fairly well against two run dominant teams. It is likely that Locker will have to beat the Chargers with his arm, which may be problematic considering I have not see much to indicate he is capable of that. Looks like the Titans D is pretty solid however so it should make for a good game.

SD will take away the run, the Eagles ran all over Skins and couldn’t against SD. I think the key to a win is turnovers. Get to Rivers and disrupt his timing routs, he won’t have Floyd this week. I am not so sure Locker’s arm can get it done. Opening at plus three doesn’t count for much this early in the season. SD has beat the spread both games so far. SD turned the ball over three times last week, all fumbles with one recovered. One turnover in week one – that went for a TD, Rivers was pressured.
