Tennessee Titans: Early 8.5-Point Underdog to Houston Texans

How much national respect do the Tennessee Titans get for ending a 10-game home-opener winning streak? How about a second consecutive week with an odds line that makes them at least a one-touchdown underdog. Or how about an odds line that’s even larger than the week before.

According to covers.com, the Titans enter their Week 2 matchup against the Houston Texans as 8.5-point underdogs. The Titans are coming off a 16-9 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Texans are coming off a Monday Night football win against the San Diego Chargers, 31-28. The Texans had to battle back from a 28-7 deficit to avoid a 0-1 start.

Looks like that upset win in Pittsburgh did nothing to change the perception of Titans football. If the Titans really want to gain some attention, then pulling off another home-opener upset in Houston may do the trick. The Texans have a much better offensive line and a stable of running backs who can run, catch and block.
