Shonn Greene: Knee Injury Not Serious, Expects to Play Week 2
— Jim Wyatt (@jwyattsports) September 9, 2013
Good news for the Tennessee Titans. The Titans will need all three of their running backs whey they play the Houston Texans in a Week 2 matchup. This will serve as Houston’s home-opener and the first division game for both teams.
On Sep. 8, the Titans opened their season with a 16-9 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Titans had a run-to-pass ratio of 42-20. Shonn Greene finished with four carries for 18 yards. A right knee injury kept him out for the rest of the game. He was seen with ice on his knee throughout the second half. Along with head coach Mike Munchak, Greene didn’t express much concern over the long-term implications from that injury. He should return next week.
What can fans expect from this running back committee? In 2012, the New York Jets hosted the Texans. Greene had eight carries for 26 yards along with one 19-yard reception. The Jets lost 23-17. In two games against the Texans, Chris Johnson had 38 carries for 192 yards.
