Tennessee Titans Add Rusty Smith, Two Others to Complete Practice Squad

Good deal. Keep the No. 3 quarterback on the practice squad instead of taking up a space on the 53-man roster as a game-day inactive. Not having him on the 53-man roster doesn’t mean much even if Jake Locker and Ryan Fitzpatrick were both injured in the same game. That’s because Smith was normally inactive. So if both quarterbacks were injured at the same time, Smith still couldn’t play because he was inactivated before the game.

Adam Schiltz was an undrafted free agents for the Houston Texans. Al Netter spent last season on the San Francisco 49ers practice squad. It’s fair to assume that had the Indianapolis Colts not picked up Jack Doyle, then Schiltz doesn’t make this eight-man scout team. Can he make anything of this opportunity?

Here’s the Titans’ eight-man practice squad as of Sep. 2, 2013:

Rusty Smith (QB)
Collin Mooney (RB)
Rashad Ross (WR)
Adam Schiltz (TE)
Al Netter (OL)
Stefan Charles (DL)
Jonathan Willard (LB)
Khalid Wooten (CB)

Not a bad little unit. There’s some potential there. Will any of these players work their way on to the main roster? Discuss in the comments, Twitter or Facebook.
