This one stings a little bit. It would’ve been nice to keep Jack Doyle as a No. 4 tight end on the practice squad. Doyle had an up-and-down preseason that consisted of a strong training camp and shaky preseason games. Doyle had some dropped passes, a fumble and a touchdown reception. That touchdown reception came in the Aug. 29 preseason finale.
Kind of annoying to see Doyle join an AFC South rival. It appears as though Doyle would serve as one of four tight ends on that roster. The Colts are just more willing to keep a fourth tight end on their 53-man roster.
Don’t expect Brandon Barden to join the practice squad. According to Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean, Barden was waived because of a knee injury.
Add Scott Solomon to the list of waiver claims. The New York Jets added Solomon to their roster. An interesting fit when one considers that Jets head coach Rex Ryan runs a 3-4 defense. How much of an impact will Solomon have?
As of 2:15 p.m. CT, the Titans have already added the following players to their practice squad:
Collin Mooney (RB)
Rashad Ross (WR)
Stefan Charles (DT)
Jonathan Willard (LB)
Khalid Wooten (DB)
