Marc Mariani: Tennessee Titans Put WR on Injured Reserve, No IR-Recall

Aug 3, 2013; Nashville, TN, USA; Tennessee Titans wide receiver Justin Hunter (15) and tight end Brandon Barden (81) congratulate wide receiver Marc Mariani (83) on scoring a touchdown on a pass from quarterback Rusty Smith (11) (not pictured) during todays scrimmage at LP Field. What does this mean for the Tennessee Titans and Marc Mariani? Some good input from Paul Kuharsky:

Have to feel for Mariani, who could miss his second consecutive season with an injury. This shoulder injury shouldn’t have kept him out for more than a couple weeks. I’m guessing both sides will reach some type of injury settlement. Darius Reynaud will likely spend his second season as the return specialist.

How do Titans enthusiasts feel about this decision? Should they have placed him on injured reserve with recall (meaning he could’ve returned after Week 6)? Should they have kept him on the 53-man roster and waited for him to get healthy? Discuss in the comments, Twitter or Facebook.
