Sometimes, it’s better to be lucky than good.
Here’s a player who may have hit the jackpot. Daimion Stafford was a bubble player who was fighting for the backup free safety job behind Michael Griffin. Stafford had an interception and fumble recovery that stopped two potential scoring drives. He was in the right place at the right time during an errant pass and a strip-fumble from Jonathan Willard.
Another touchdown drive from Ryan Fitzpatrick. He completed all five of his pass attempts for 61 yards with a 17-yard touchdown strike to Justin Hunter. This touchdown came during the second quarter and gave the Titans a 10-7 lead.
Good night for the No. 34 pick from the 2013 NFL Draft. Hunter had four catches for 45 yards with a touchdown. He may start the season toward the bottom of the depth chart. Just don’t act too surprised if he’s making a difference later this season.
