One of the most interesting matchups will include any Falcons wide receiver who’s lined up opposite of Tommie Campbell or Alterraun Verner. Verner has the advantage for becoming the No. 2 cornerback. With that said, Campbell will likely get at least one quarter against the starters. Can he prove that he’s the better fit in the new man-press scheme?

Verner and Campbell won’t have their hands as full as they would’ve if Roddy White were playing. One of the Falcons’ top concerns is who would replace Julio Jones or White in case of an extended absence. They’ll get a look at Harry Douglas and/or Drew Davis against base defenses.

Offensive Center

Another undecided starting battle includes Rob Turner and Fernando Velasco. Despite performing admirably as a fill-in starter during 2012, Velasco isn’t expected to retain his job. The Titans believe that Turner’s nastiness will fit perfectly in the interior of an offensive line that includes Andy Levitre and Chance Warmack.

One Titans player who will make his preseason debut: Brian Schwenke. Schwenke missed the first two games with a hamstring injury. He’s expected to serve as the second-team center. Chris Spencer and Velasco would serve as second-team guards.
