Preseason Game No. 2 of 4 is in the books. The Tennessee Titans dropped to 0-2 following a 27-19 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Aug. 17, 2013.

The Titans got off to a strong start when they scored a field goal on their opening drive and forced a defensive turnover on the Bengals’ opening drive. Everything dropped off after that. The Titans couldn’t finish scoring drives, their kickers couldn’t put the football anywhere near the uprights, and the defense appeared just as bad as they were in 2012.

Let’s check out who some of the Titans’ studs and duds were. Who made a strong case for winning one of the final spots on the 53-man roster? Who should start getting a head start on their employment search?

There is a theory that teams reflect the personality of their head coach. You could make the case that the Titans are an even keel, no nonsense, blue collar team reflecting the attitude and play of Mike Munchak. On the other side of the coin, you could describe them as dull, lack luster and uninspired.
I’m personally rooting for Mike Munchak and the Titans. I think he’s a high integrity guy that deeply cares about the organization for which he works. Is that enough? Nope. It’s time he lights a fire under this team or, if he can’t, get Williams and Jefferson to do the dirty work. And the sooner the better; otherwise the dude is going to get the ax from the only team he’s ever played and coached for. If so, so be it.
