Expect Britt to play in the upcoming preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals (Aug. 17). One can hope that his knee will hold up, improve, and won’t become anymore of a nuisance than it already is. Britt joins Kevin Walter (back) and Marc Mariani (shoulder) as wide receivers who are battling injuries. Walter and Mariani will probably miss the rest of training camp. Their absences may cost them a 53-man roster spot.
There’s a load of potential among a trio of receivers that include Kendall Wright, Justin Hunter and Britt. All three of those players were chosen with a draft pick that was no higher than 34th in their respect draft. Wright and Britt were both first-round picks. With every bit of injury news, it seems like Nate Washington’s job becomes even more of a lock than it was before.
Are our readers concerned with the short-term and/or long-term implications of Britt’s knee? Have the Titans been overcautious? Will this keep Britt from reaching his full potential? Does it have any impact on whether the Titans re-sign him at the end of this year, give him a franchise tag or let him walk?
