Tennessee Titans, 2013 NFL Draft: Day 3 Needs, Best Players Available

Day 2 of the 2013 NFL Draft was an eventful experience for the Tennessee Titans. After the Jacksonville Jaguars started the day with pick No. 33, the Titans traded up to No. 34 and drafted Justin Hunter. The Titans ended the night with pick No. 97, the final pick of the night.

Some surprising players are still available. Among those are Barrett Jones and Quinton Patton. How must the Dallas Cowboys feel about drafting Travis Frederick at No. 31 now that David Quessenberry, Brian Schwenke and Jones are all available in Round 4? Looks like an even bigger reach than it did on Thur. night

I’ve complied a list of team needs and players who the Tennessee Titans could target in Day 3. These aren’t necessarily players who I like/hate. But they address positions where improved depth and role play is needed.

No. 34: Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee

If they can still come away with Okafor, it will be a total steal!

Have a feeling a lot of teams are looking at him today. I hope he can last till our pick…

Psh. You can’t put running back as a need. You can have it as a want, but they’ve got 4 RB’s (CJ, Green, Harper, Reyaud).

Reynaud is a PR/KR. And there’s nothing to suggest they’ll ever play Jamie Harper. They could definitely use a younger set of legs that they’ll actually use.

They played him last year. There’s nothing to suggest they’ll be playing their 3rd RB, period. As for Reynaud, he’s got to register somewhere on the roster, whether it’s as a WR or a RB. Last year, he played RB and that’s where he registered. Mariani is a WR, not just a PR/KR.

19 carries as a No. 2 back for most of year (most as a below-average goalline RB). Even after Ringer got hurt, coaches rarely ran Harper. Gotta have quality depth behind two almost-28-year-olds and Harper hasn’t offered them that. They’ll find him some competition, even if it’s undrafted FA.

Also like DE David Bass today. Be interesting to see where he goes off the board.
