Titans Sign DT Sammie Hill to 3-Year Deal

The Tennessee Titans have signed DT Sammie Hill, formerly of the Detroit Lions, to a 3-year deal this afternoon shortly after signing veteran RB Shonn Greene to a 3-year deal.

I have yet to come across anyone who could say something negative about Sammie Hill. The only thing I’ve heard is that he should be given the chance to start after being held behind Detroit’s Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley. He sounds like an upgrade over Sen’Derrick Marks and hopefully the final cog to a line that has struggled to stop opposing team’s run games.

The Titans have had one of the most successful free agencies in recent memory this year, going after needs hard and fast and getting the guys they’ve wanted. It’ll be interesting to watch the rest of their free agency moves play out, but not nearly as interesting as these first two days have been.

The Titans should still be looking to add depth on the defensive line at the defensive end position, where they only have four players I can think of off the top of my head (Wimbley, Morgan, Solomon, and Dawson).

If you’re not excited for the upcoming 2013 NFL Draft, you don’t love Titans football.

So this is what free agency feels like…this is pretty cool. I dont even know how to feel about it.

I didn’t know there was a part of the season called free agency. I thought teams just rotated through mediocre players every spring.

Yea evidently there is an opportunity to actually bring in talent to fix what some people call “areas of need”…I personally think Ruston Webster should play RG…and D-end.

Put Munch in at RG, put Matthews in a C. BAM! Problems solved!

Better yet…the problem just got Munch’ed….hello new verb.

            Ha ha ha. Perfect.

Hopefully, all the signings will happen in the future and not only when the coaches are on thin ice!

Very good point. With their feet against the fire, Munchak and Webster seem much more capable of opening Bud’s wallet…perhaps he’s taking an extended nap?

Yes, sadly I think it only happened because the coaches are in the hot seat. Until now, they have never went into free agency with this much hype!

i think they were ready to do this last year until Bud made them chase manning for two weeks while everyone else signed elsewhere.

            You are probably right.
