Kenny Britt Releases Confusing Statement

Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt seems to be digging an ever deeper hole in this confusing incident involving a stabbing and shooting last night in New Jersey. An spokesman for Britt, who asked to remain unidentified, released this statement on Britt’s behalf today:

“Kenny was leaving a dinner cooked by his friends’ parents – it was not a house party – when he found his friend, who had left earlier, injured outside. Kenny immediately brought his friend to the hospital and was there with the injured friend’s family for several hours, but was not otherwise involved in the incident. Kenny’s brother was not injured (and wasn’t even there) and Kenny has made himself available to cooperate with the authorities investigation of this matter.”

Though the statement says that Britt has made himself available to cooperate with authorities, the police claim that they still have not talked to Britt and would like to do so. Also, according to the Tennessean, the statement was not done in part by the Titans, Britt’s agent, or the head of Britt’s management team.

The biggest question on my mind is why doesn’t Britt just go to the police and answer their questions? If there is nothing to hide and it’s obvious that they want to question him, go in, answer the questions, and clear the air on this mess. Sitting in your house, or wherever you may be, and making people physically come to you only raises suspicion.

As this draws out longer, we’re all just left sitting here, pondering the repercussions of what happened last night and questioning what lies ahead for this ever embattled receiver.

The only thing I can think of is this: Britt is one of those paranoid individuals who never trusts the police or the government. He always thinks they’re against him. Otherwise, he’s making himself look bad for no reason whatsoever.

Who knows what goes on inside that head of his. But I agree. It wouldn’t surprise me if that’s his thinking.

i’ve completely changed my stance on greg jennings. maybe we should go after him. if britt does stick around, jennings can motivate/mentor him. if not, then who cares…we have greg jennings.

That’s what I’m thinking. Jennings would be a solid number one for the Titans to add and less of a headache than Britt. Just depends on if they can pony up the money. They definitely have the money.

Titans will have 19.4 mil in cap room…according to Clayton

I have my doubts that this whole thing is true because Britt was recently married and he knows the dangers of bad choices.

Hard to doubt Britt screwing up. He had his most recent (before this) incident of drunk driving just after being married. The police are also still saying he hasn’t been in contact with him and they are now reaching out to anyone who can get them in contact with him.

Britt has definitely messed up again.

      • Modesto Koczwara

He can, but we hope not plus I doubt he was not even involved in that mess.
