On a night where the Tennessee Titans offense struggled get anything going, Chris Johnson’s 94 yard touchdown run provided a much needed shot in the arm.
Jake Locker looked amazing running the ball, however throwing the ball doesn’t seem to come as natural. Locker completed 13 of 22 passes for only 149 yards against the Jets. Locker continues to be incredibly inconsistent as a passer completing only 57% of his passes for the season. Even when Locker does complete passes he has rarely looked comfortable this season. Watching Jake Locker play reminds me of playing Madden against the kid that’s not that good and kind of just runs around behind the line of scrimmage and throws it long every play. He will make the big play one out of five or six tries but simply cannot consistently keep the chains moving.
Chris Johnson’s 94 yard TD run in the 2nd quarter marked the sixth time that he’s had a TD run of 80+ yards which is an NFL record. Johnson finished the night with 122 yards on 21 carries. It looks great on paper but the Jets basically shut C.J. down for much of the night. Outside of his 94 yard TD run Johnson only managed to gain 28 yards on 21 carries.
With the win the Titans moved to 5-9 on the season and knocked the New York Jets out of playoff contention.
