Tennessee Titans: Chris Johnson Decision

It was reported today that within Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson’s contract there is a time period, Feb. 4th-9th where the team can release him at no cost. If they decide to keep him, it will cost the Titans $10 million for his skills in the ’13-14′ season.

CJ’s productivity has dipped the past two seasons, but he has still put up solid numbers. He has surpassed a thousand yards this season, and has in every season that he has been in the NFL. He is still productive, and flashes glimpses of the past, but his lack of consistency is troublesome. Now there are legitimate reasons for this, a hold out, and questionable offensive line are a few.

So it comes down to whether the Titans are going to move forward with their star running back Chris Johnson ,who is one of the most productive players in the franchises’ history, or are they going to cut ties, and move forward without the once prized possession?

Very interested to see what happens. I have a feeling they may let him walk.

Meh. I doubt it. There’s always that off chance…. But I don’t think they let him go.

It is a lot of money….

In the end, he will get paid because he ran his sixth 80+ yards TD however I do think he got way too much money and I hope that money does not go to his head. If it does, The Titans are doomed! This stat proves that he is a special Running Back!

He is special. I wouldn’t be too worried about the money going to his head. If that happened, it happened when he signed the contract.

We already saw the forthcoming side effect of that happening though which is laziness.

            I haven’t seen laziness. I’ve seen a line that couldn’t create a hole for a mouse.

Right, when he was not dancing around behind the line. I agree that the OL was not the best either.

Report just came out that said they are leaning towards keeping him.
