Tennessee Titans Fight for Pride, Jobs

Rob Foldy-US PRESSWIRE

Ask any Tennessee Titans’ player what they’re playing for and they’ll look you straight in the eye and tell you the playoffs. As a rational man, albiet optimistic, I’m not seeing it in that light. If the Titans wanted to make the playoffs, last week was vital.

None the less, I’m excited to see them play today. The Houston Texans haven’t been the strongest team lately and the Titans could steal this win.

Bruce Kluckhohn-US PRESSWIRE

It’d be nice to see them save some face, having lost to every division rival this year. Every one of those losses has stung, especially coming from a team that I touted as one of the best to ever take the field in Titans’ uniforms. I still believe they are that team.

Perhaps it’s due to youth, perhaps it’s due to bad coaching, but for whatever reason they under performed this year, I’m putting it behind me. There’s too much to be glum about in this world and there’s always the hope they doing something exciting on Sunday.
The offense is under Dowell Loggains hands now. That gives us at least a glimmer of hope, and something new to look forward to. Many are saying he’s an up and comer and could shine with his new duties.

Today’s a good time to do so. He may only have a week under his belt, but the offense is excited to be working with this players’ coach. Locker, Cookie, Britt, and everybody else sound excited to have him calling plays. There was a noticable lack of faith from players in ex-coach Palmer. With Loggains, they feel like they have someone that they can talk to and that can relate to them.

The Titans may not realistically be in playoff contention, but heck, let’s just pretend for today. Okay?
