Tennessee Titans to Start QB Jake Locker Sunday

The Tennessee Titans have announced that QB Jake Locker will be starting Sunday, barring any setbacks, according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.

That noise you may be hearing is all the Tennessee Titans fans having a collective sigh of relief. It’s been up and down since Locker has been out. A lack of deep and big plays has certainly been noticeable. Locker should be able to bring back the spark this offense needs to produce points. He should also be able to utilize TE Jared Cook better than Matt Hasselbeck did.

It’ll be interesting to see how different this offense is under Locker. Some have speculated, such as our own Shawn Eagle, that the run game success was in large part due to Hasselbeck being on the field. Sunday should be a pretty good test of that theory.

The Miami Dolphins have the 3rd ranked run defense in the league.

Titans fans have to be excited to see Locker back behind center. Let’s just hope we don’t have to wince every time we see him get hit. Hopefully we don’t have to see too much of that.
