In what looked like it may be another shoot out for the Tennessee Titans against the Colts, the offense came out flat and was only able to muster 13 points.
The Indianapolis Colts came into the game allowing 24+ points a game and were ranked 19th in total defense. Oh yeah, they also were 0-9 on the road before Sunday. All of those numbers would mean nothing once the final overtime whistle was blown and the Colts left LP Field with an OT victory, 19-13.
In a game that saw Matt Hasselbeck complete 22 of 29 passes and throw for 236 and one TD it was the pass he didn’t complete that most fans will remember. Late in the game with the Titans just barely out of field goal range and looking to go up by a TD, Hasselbeck over threw a streaking Jared Cook on a fade route that was a sure TD. That’s just how the day went for the Titans.
Playing against a struggling Colts defense, Chris Johnson continued to look good with 99 yards on 21 carries for the day. The Bears come rolling into town this weekend so let’s see if CJ can continue running the ball the way he has been.
This is probably the most frustrating loss of the season for the Titans as they fall to 3-5 and 3rd place in the AFC South. The Titans allowed a Colts team to come to town on a 9 game road losing streak and leave with a win.
Once again, the offense scored 13 points against a Colts defense that was allowing 24+ a game. The offense doesn’t to have too much trouble moving the ball consistently, but once they get around the 35-40(field goal) range they bog down. Palmer must figure out a way to cure these problems moving forward.
