The Tennessee Titans lost, in one of the worst officiating games of the season, to the Indianapolis Colts in Nashville. That’s not how games should be. The Titans had just about every call going against them, including what should have been a fumble recovered near the Colts 20 yard line with seconds remaining in the game.
There was not even a review of the fumble, which the Titans couldn’t challenge due to it being within the final 2 minutes.
But that’s another article. The Titans offense bears the weight for this loss. They struggled against a poor defense and despite RB Chris Johnson getting 99 yards, the passing offense was ineffective for a good chunk of the game. They found rhythm in the final minutes but couldn’t get the ball within field goal range for K Rob Bironas.
The Titans offense found their stride early in the game but faded as the game went along. On the other side of the ball, the Titans defense had one of their strongest games yet, terrorizing Luck on nearly every play. That is until overtime, when Luck and the Colts running game pushed down the field in no time, ending the game with a great diving TD from RB Vick Ballard on a short pass from Luck.
Luck was scrambling for his life most of the game as Titans DE’s Derrick Morgan and Kamerion Wimbley consistently collapsed the pocket. Luck did escape a few turnovers, including a fumble and a dropped pick by CB Jason McCourty.
The game was a pretty tight one all the way up till the end. It’s too bad it’s marred by bad officiating.
Final Score: Titans 13 – Colts 19
