Tennessee Titans fans will be forced to wait at least another week to see QB Jake Locker on the field, according to Titans coach Munchak in the Titans Monday press conference.
Protecting Locker’s shoulder is the Titans number one priority, as it should be. When it was reinjured in Houston, that was a serious thing and they need to make sure that shoulder is fully healed when he hits the field again, or he could end up undergoing shoulder surgery.
QB Matt Hasselbeck will once again be starting in his place. Hasselbeck has been up and down in his two starts this season. Hopefully his third start will be more of the up.
Luckily the Titans may be facing the lightest opponents yet on their schedule in the Buffalo Bills. The Bills have allowed almost as many points as the Titans 204, with a close 192.
The Titans may have finally gotten their run game going, and with WR Kenny Britt finally being healthy, this team would appear to be trending upwards. Hasselbeck will have to prove his worth once again as the backup QB on this team. The last few games, his lack of arm strength has been quite noticeable. He’s also been sacked twice as many times as Locker in half the playing time.
He certainly doesn’t bring the same skill set to the table, but if he can play as well as he did last week, the Titans should be able to come out with a win on Sunday.
It’s not very often I’ve gotten to say that this season.
